  • 2 cups arepas flour
  • 1 cup crumbled cheese preferably queso fresco
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup oil for frying

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine arepas flour, crumbled cheese, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add milk and mix until a dough forms.
  • Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Form small balls from the dough and fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
