Equipment

  • Electric Kettle
  • blender
  • pitcher

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 2 teaspoon black tea
  • 4 cups water

Mango Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized mangoes approx 350 grams of pulp
  • 3-4 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoon sugar or sweetener of your choice
  • as required ice cubes

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. I boiled my water in my electric kettle.
  • Transfer the hot water to a pitcher and add the black tea. Let it steep for 5 to 7 minutes. Strain the tea and refrigerate it for an hour or two.
  • Add the brewed tea, lime juice, fresh mango pulp, and ice cubes into the blender.
  • Blend them well and check for sweetness. Add sugar, honey, agave nectar, or any sweetener you choose and blend again.
  • Transfer to serving glasses or to a pitcher and refrigerate. Serve this mango tea chilled, and add more ice cubes before serving.

Notes

If the mangoes are sweet, you might not need sugar or sweetener. Adjust sweetness according to taste. You can use honey, agave nectar, maple syrup, or coconut sugar. You can make the tea in your preferred way. Do not brew the tea for 10 minutes unless using cold brew, as longer steeping can make it bitter. Instead of black tea, you can use green tea or a mix of green and black tea.
