Meat and Base

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese grated
  • 25 ounces frozen tater tots
  • 2 tablespoons chives or green onions optional
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Mince the garlic.
  • In a pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the garlic until cooked (no pink remains).
  • Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the can of soup and season with salt and pepper.
  • Lightly grease a 9×13 pan. Add the meat mixture, sprinkle on the grated cheese, then add the frozen tater tots.
  • Bake at 350°F (177°C) for 35-40 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  • Top with chives or other fresh herbs and serve warm.

Notes

You can add more seasoning to the meat for added flavor. Consider using chili powder, cayenne, or Italian seasoning. To reduce fat, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Other herbs like cilantro, rosemary, or thyme can also be used as toppings.
